BACKGROUND

The Ministry of Education in Trinidad and Tobago sought to engage parents and caregivers in supporting their children’s education beyond the classroom, specifically for Early Childhood Education Centres. The challenge was to create resources that would effectively communicate to parents how they can continue the learning process at home using everyday activities.

Our task was to develop two animated videos that would educate parents on simple yet impactful activities they can implement at home. The goal was to make education feel accessible, fun, and ongoing, with a focus on integrating learning into daily life. These videos needed to resonate with a wide audience and demonstrate that education isn’t confined to a classroom setting—it’s a living and breathing experience that can be fostered at home.

We collaborated closely with the Ministry of Education to understand the core values of early childhood education and the specific outcomes they wanted to achieve. Our team of animators and content creators worked to craft engaging and vibrant animations that captured both the essence of early education and the importance of parental involvement. The videos were designed to showcase a variety of simple activities that parents could easily integrate into their daily routines to reinforce the lessons their children were learning at the Early Childhood Centres.

The animation style was kept colorful and engaging, appealing to both children and parents, while the content was kept practical and easy to follow. Each video was structured to be educational yet lighthearted, using relatable scenarios and real-life situations where learning could take place.

The videos were successfully launched as part of the Ministry’s educational outreach. Feedback from parents and educators indicated that the content was well-received, with many parents reporting a better understanding of how they could contribute to their child’s educational journey at home. The animated format allowed for complex ideas to be communicated in an accessible and entertaining way, and the videos became a valuable tool in helping the Ministry of Education promote the concept that learning is continuous and can be experienced anywhere.
